Climatic Tests are carried out because in the global market, hardware must be able to withstand almost any climate. 

Components within a circuit each have a working temperature range; once that is exceeded the electrical properties change and the circuit can become unstable, or cease to function at all.  Materials can also deteriorate over time, ageing prematurely due to either high or low temperature extremes. Testing under relevant simulated climate conditions enables the reliability of products to be assessed and improved.
