Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) ratchets up the Star Labeling Norms for Self Ballasted Light Emitting Diode (LED) Lamps.

Star rating norms for LED lamp stand upgraded by 1 Star level.

The revised norms come into effect from 1st July, 2023.

All currently star labeled models of self-ballasted LED Lamps automatically expire on 30th September, 2023 unless renewed as per new norms by then.

For exercising degradation option for existing models (eg. 3 star to 2 star) and approval as per the revised energy consumption standards needs to be obtained from BEE on or before 30th September, 2023. The option could be exercised on the S&L portal w.e.f. 24th June, 2023.

Registration of fresh models or renewal of already registered models as per the new star rating norms begins w.e.f. 24th June, 2023.

Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment(MTCTE) phase-III and IV products-reg. Ref: No. 5-2/2021-TC/TEC/131 dated: 13/06/2022

In partial modification to this office notification no. 5-2/2021-TC/TEC/l 3 l dated 13/06/2022, w.r.t. the testing and certification of telecommunication equipment under Phase-III & Phase-IV ofMTCTE regime, as provisioned in Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules 2017, the following amendments are hereby notified with immediate effect as mentioned below:

Extension of date of mandatory certification of 32 products (ERs) covered under MTCTE phase-III and IV by three months i.e. from 01.07.2023 to 01.10.2023. The list of 32 products is placed at Annexure-I.

Extension of date of mandatory certification of 12 products (ERs) covered under MTCTE phase-III and IV by six months i.e. from 01.07.2023 to 01.01.2024. The list of 12 products is placed at Annexure-II.

Extension of last date of acceptance of test reports issued by labs accredited by International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) signatories from non-border sharing countries by six months for technical parameters only i.e. from 30.06.2023 to 31.12.2023 for the products mentioned in Annexure-111.

This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
