ISI Mark Scheme
The ISI mark is a standards-compliance mark for industrial products in India since 1950. The mark certifies that a product conforms to an Indian standard (IS) developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the national standards body of India. The ISI mark is mandatory for a certain products to be sold in India, like switches, electric motors, wiring cables, heaters, mixer grinder, etc., compliance to ISI mark is also possible on voluntary basis for non-regulated products.
Testing for ISI mark is require to be conducting at BIS recognised test Labs. Test request are generated from LIMS portal of BIS.
Samples picked up from manufacture unit or under market surveillance scheme are also sent for testing to recognised labs.
Conformity Testing Labs being NABL Accredited and BIS Recognised, provide a wide range of scope for testing of products as per different Indian Standards.
